It’s tough to take care of yourself when you’re in a low mood. Still, it’s much harder when no one else is around to listen to how you feel or even give you words of affirmation to cheer you up.
Not everyone has their go-to person(s) when they are experiencing low mood or depression. I always say that ”Sundays are for cuddles and Harry Potter” a pretty lazy day, but how do you get over the loneliness that comes with the Sunday blues?
The first step to feeling better is admitting you’re lonely; living in denial will only make things worse. Accepting your loneliness is necessary to overcome it sooner rather than later.
Well let’s start off by eating.
I would say a healthy meal but…I literally had 10 samosas yesterday so I’m not really one to talk but I highly suggest having a meal you’ve always enjoyed and loved, maybe it’s something you haven’t had for a very long time, that in it’s itself can be very comforting.
Have a slow day
When I feel low, I am in no rush to do anything, and neither should you. It’s okay to stay in bed and watch movies all day; it’s okay to allow your mind and body just to be and rest; it’s okay to be tearful when you feel lonely, and allow yourself to feel. How you think is not ”wrong” or ”bizarre”. What you’re feeling is completely normal, and you can overcome it. Until then, have a slow day.
Self-care
You have to learn to care for others the way you’d love to be cared for. Say you had a friend or romantic interest who said they were feeling extremely low. What would you do for them? Go for a walk? Run them a bath? Light some candles to set a better mood and aura, right? Maybe get them something they like, whether it be a book or something expensive and shiny.

Okay, maybe the expensive shiny part was mainly for me, just like a moth to a flame. Still, everything mentioned, you will now do a switcheroo, reserve it and apply it to yourself. What’s my favourite saying? The longest relationship you’ll ever have is with yourself, so please take care of yourself even through loneliness.
Like a friend once said to me;
Loneliness is the reward we get for having morals.
