Footcare

Caring for your feet is essential in the same way we care for our face and body.

I’ll be honest: When it comes to any type of routine involving hair, face, body, and feet, I find foot care tedious. However, I’d rather be caught dead than with crusty feet, and I feel strongly about this as I take pride in having pretty feet. Extra, I know.

We use our feet all the time, with all the walking or running that we do. Even if you are a person that doesn’t use your feet, they too deserve the care your face gets but the best part about foot care is that it’s low maintenance.

I get my toes done every 4-5 weeks because this is the maintenance I have created for myself, but I do more at home that you can too. Summer is here, and if you like having your toes out, there’s no better time than to give your feet the care they deserve, which can also be beneficial in preventing foot conditions.

You only need two things.

  • Pumice rock or Foot Scrub

Maybe it’s the African woman in me, but a pumice rock does more for me, though I use both. I got a foot spa from Amazon because I wanted to save money and didn’t continuously want to go to the nail shop to have my feet scrubbed. You, too, can get one, or the other option I’ve also done is soaking feet in a bucket or dish of warm water mixed with foot wash for about 20-30 mins. After the soaking is done, use an exfoliating foot scrub. My favourite scrub would be the ‘Kaeso Foot Scrub, Lime and Ginger Tingle’‘ massage into your feet and scrub the bottom of your feet using a foot scrub or a pumice rock. The feeling after will be unmatched.

  • Foot Lotion

Simply massage the foot lotion into your feet. Stop neglected your feet because ”no one is going to see” even if no one is seeing you should still care for your feet for your own benefit. Moisturise your feet.

You do not have to get your toes done every month, simple nail clipping, nail failing and even a clear coat and you’re good to go. If possible get a loved when to give you a foot massage or if you feel there might be a foot condition arising you should consider podiatrist.

Here’s to having pretty feet in 2024!
