Feeling Low

Have you ever gone through a phase where you literally just feel low, and no I don’t mean depression (but look out for my future posts on that!)

I mean, just being in a horrible funk that you just can’t seem to get out of, nothing seems to make you feel good, nothing you do or watch is able to motivate you and you know for a fact you’re not depressed..no? no one? just me?

In all honesty I feel people don’t talk enough about being sad. Being happy 24/7 is abnormal and if you are literally happy 24/7 you’re probably a sociopath. Yes being happy should be the goal you should always try your best to be happy but if you’re sad, be sad. Allow yourself to feel sad then from that you should try your best to do what makes you feel better and what makes you feel happy.

I used to have the horrible habit of suppressing my emotions and ended up feeling numb which then affected my relationships with the people around me and I hated it. In agreement to huffpost.com

Rather than trying to suppress your feelings, work to be a mindful observer of them. Notice the emotions that you are experiencing and where you feel them in your body. Then, try to cultivate a curious and nonjudgmental stance.

There is nothing wrong with being sad, there is nothing wrong with feeling low and wanting to have time to yourself and not engage in any trivial conversation, you are a human being not a cyborg.

It’s totally normal to have those days, things will not always go your way and that’s fine. So go ahead and have that take away and binge on your Netflix show because in the end, we’ll always win, happiness isn’t a destination but a journey, we shouldn’t get worked up about what’s going to happen next, let’s just focus on the now and try to feel better.

  3. I love this! Thank you for sharing 💕
I definitely feel that being sad is okay! It’s often stigmatized in our society but those who allow to be sad have become such confident people. Feel sad, but don’t dwell on being sad. ☀️
